Touch Africa Initiative Development (TAIDe) works alongside communities across Kenya to widen access to healthcare and open real pathways out of poverty — one household, one clinic visit, one small business at a time.
Who we are
TAIDe was registered in Nairobi on 6 September 2019 as a non-governmental organisation, with a simple mission:
"Improve healthcare access and reduce poverty in society."
We stay close to the communities we serve. We act fast, and we focus on doing a few things well instead of spreading ourselves thin. Before we start any activity, we ask one simple question: what does this family, or this clinic, need right now?
Where we put our energy
Healthcare and poverty rarely arrive alone — a family skipping a clinic visit and a family short on income are often the same story told twice. TAIDe works both ends at once.
We work to close the distance — literal and financial — between families and basic health services: connecting people to clinics, supporting community health outreach, and raising awareness of preventable conditions before they become emergencies.
Alongside health work, we back the everyday economics of a household — supporting livelihoods, community initiatives, and local resilience so that a medical bill or a bad season doesn't undo years of progress.
On the ground
Three activities, in their own words — what we did, where, and when.
We distributed colour-coded garbage bins to Tassia Kwa Ndege Hospital to help prevent the spread of disease caused by poor waste management.
When drought put West Pokot's elderly and disabled residents at risk of starvation, staff at the African Development Bank Group's East Africa region rallied and channeled food through Touch Africa, which delivered and distributed it by hand at the KAG Church Psigirio.
