The Vision of Touch Africa

The vision of Touch Africa is to raise up an involvement movement reaching out to the AIDS orphans crisis and empowering the African Church as a sending Church. The mission of Touch Africa is to raise up iMissionaries who will impact Africa with their skills, time, and resources through projects, trips, and long-term involvement.

What is Touch Africa 05 and Touch Africa 06?

Touch Africa 05 is a short-term mission team of 10 people going to Zambia and surrounding countries from July 25 to August 17. Touch Africa 05 is partnering with the ministries of Helen Ji in Zambia.

1. We are believing in an awesome God.
Though on our own we know we can’t make a dent in the AIDS crisis, but when we follow His lead we know that miracles can happen. We are trusting that God will work in ways beyond our expectation and imagination.

2. We are partnering with the local Zambian church.
One of the unique parts of this trip is our partnership with Helen Ji and the local Zambian church. We will be serving and walking alongside them. They are the main players in what God is doing to heal a devastated generation. We will be tangibly helping them by:
a. Resourcing the leaders with much needed Christian books
b. Helping with a historic missions conference in the capital
c. Praying together for the revival of the Zambian church and the restoration of the millions of orphans
d. Exploring ways we can serve and empower local Christian efforts to minister to orphans, widows and the poor.

3. We will be asking questions with a long-term commitment and perspective.
The goal of this trip is to explore long-term opportunities to make a difference in the lives of millions of orphans. We will be visiting various ministries in various countries with the openness that God may be calling us to be an advocate for many years to come. After our trip we are encouraging team members to continue their involvement by seeking God for their next tangible steps. We are also hoping the partnership with Helen Ji and the local Zambian church will continue to grow in years to come.
